StreamAMG has been shortlisted for the 'Best Use of Technology in Football' category at the Football Business Awards 2023.
The award recognises the best use of technology in the football industry, and StreamAMG was selected for its work on launching National League TV, the first-ever dedicated live streaming service for the fifth-tier of English football.
StreamAMG's technology was used to power National League TV, and the company is responsible for the delivery of all live streams, as well as the management of the service's back-end infrastructure.
Our work was recently met with glowing praise by National League General Manager Mark Ives on the Price of Football podcast, who explained that ”The streaming has been fantastic... We are well ahead of our anticipated figures."
Ives added that “80% of clubs have shown increases in attendances compared to the previous year... The streaming is not intended to replace people going in through the gates – it’s to open the door to people that are unable to get to the games be that in a domestic environment or abroad.”
In response to the news of the award nomination, StreamAMG CEO Hugo Sharman commented:
“We are delighted to be shortlisted for the 'Best Use of Technology' award at the Football Business Awards. We are proud to have powered the first-ever dedicated live streaming service for the National League, which has achieved a series of firsts, including being the first football service to redistribute a proportion of net revenue according to the fan’s team affiliation, and the first football league to pioneer the concept of a day/round pass covering all matches on its own D2C platform."
The Football Business Awards are the premier awards for the football industry and will take place on 26th May 2023 at The Brewery in London.
