Get in touchStreamAMG has been delivering the PDC TV HD service for more than three years, with a new CloudMatrix led OTT app and website launched in 2018. This project involved setting up a global ingestion network to consume feeds from Beijing to Las Vegas and from Blackpool to Amsterdam all year round. A combination of satellite, IP and RTMP ingestion mechanism meant StreamAMG’s cloud transcoding network could do the hard work and deliver a solution to PDC’s global fan base.
A further focus on creating new and feature-driven VOD via SnappyTV live trimming and ingestion into CloudMatrix, allowed both the PDC and StreamAMG to grow subscribers to record levels.
A successful launch culminated in the PDC World Championships being broadcast live to fans around the world from the Alexandra Palace in London over the Christmas 2018 period.
In addition to live content, darts fans can also access curated feeds of on demand content, from full match replays to collections of nine-darters, 180s and much more. The CloudMatrix system ensures content flows directly into the relevant categories and collections automatically, reducing the load on PDC’s content team. When it comes to live, broadcasting of multiple boards simultaneously gets viewers closer to the action on the device of their choosing.
User management is powered by StreamAMG’s CloudPay solution, which allows for custom packages to be set up at will plus automated emails, churn management, geo-blocking and much more. The system fits seamlessly into StreamAMG’s customer service solution, provided directly from the company’s production hub in MediaCityUK. User data is passed back to PDC’s main website, allowing PDC TV HD subscribers to access a range of other premium benefits, including priority ticket offers, as part of their package.
