How we helped Liverpool FC increase its number of paid subscribers

Liverpool FC is widely regarded as the leader in digital engagement for football. Naturally, they wanted to push forward in online sports video too. That’s why they asked us to revamp their online offering LFC TV GO.

To date, we’ve been working alongside the legendary Premier League team since 2011. We started by integrating our MediaPlatform with Liverpool FC’s CMS and internal workflows. This workflow optimisation meant staff could work more efficiently and get regular video content to their subscribers faster.

Liverpool FC uses a premium subscription system to generate revenue from their premium content. MediaPlatform allows them to do this through a single system, keeping the service fresh with new and innovative content to reduce subscriber churn. Fans can now watch content across all their devices.

In April 2018, Liverpool’s updated VOD and OTT service, LFC TV, launched using CloudMatrix our revolutionary video curation system that unites content creation, payment and distribution in one intuitive package.

CloudMatrix can power entire video sections and apps with minimal development, allowing Liverpool's content team the agility to publish bespoke collections of content and take advantage of the constantly fast-moving nature of professional football.

Following the launch of the new LFC TV GO in April 2018, Liverpool FC now have over 40,000 videos on the system, serving these to thousands of subscribers around the globe.
