Overview

StreamAMG partnered with the World Curling Federation to launch The Curling Channel, its first dedicated OTT platform, powered by StreamAMG’s BLAZE solution. The objective was to create a centralised digital destination for fans, providing improved access to live and on-demand curling content while establishing a scalable monetisation framework.

The challenge

The World Curling Federation required a direct-to consumer platform to better serve its global audience. Prior to launch, content distribution was fragmented across third-party platforms, limiting the federation’s ability to own its audience, capture first-party data, and generate consistent digital revenue. As a result, audience engagement was concentrated around major events, with limited ability to retain and monetise fans year-round

The solution

StreamAMG delivered a fully managed OTT platform through its BLAZE solution, purpose-built for federations with global audiences and event-led calendars. The Curling Channel enabled the federation to distribute live and on-demand content globally, supported by an integrated monetisation model and secure payment infrastructure. The platform was designed to scale alongside the federation’s calendar, accommodating peak traffic during major competitions while maintaining consistent access to content year-round.

Results

With the support of StreamAMG, World Curling scaled from 12k to 30k users (+138%) in 15 months by rapidly expanding into 58 markets and leveraging Stripe-driven monetisation.
