StreamAMG at IBC 2025: Shaping the future of live sports OTT

Published On: September 17, 2025 - Categories: Industry Insights News

Last week, our team attended IBC 2025, one of the world’s leading media, entertainment and technology shows. The event continues to be a hub of innovation, discussion, and future-focused strategy and this year’s theme was clear: the future of OTT is being built now, and sports streaming is leading the way.

From panel discussions to partner meetings and product showcases, our time at IBC reinforced what we’ve long known, live sports streaming is the most powerful driver of online subscriptions in the media landscape today. As fans continue to move away from traditional broadcast models, OTT platforms are now the arena where engagement, loyalty, and growth are won.

The takeaway: Fan experience is the new frontier

A standout panel at IBC focused on the rapid evolution of sports OTT and the expectations of today’s digital-native audiences. The message was simple: it’s no longer just about delivering the stream, it’s about delivering the experience.

From that discussion and our own industry conversations, we identified several key pillars that define the future of sports OTT:

  • Hyper-personalisation – Fans expect tailored content, curated feeds, and user journeys that reflect their preferences, favourite teams, and viewing habits.
  • Multi-view experiences – Camera angles, alternative commentary tracks, and dynamic viewing options give fans more control over how they watch.
  • Predictive analytics – Intelligent data use can inform content discovery, drive in-match insights, and support real-time personalisation.
  • Low latency delivery – Sub-second delays are becoming table stakes for sports rights holders.
  • Interactive storytelling – Integrating stats, timelines, and player info into the live stream transforms passive viewing into an immersive experience.
  • Operational excellence – At scale, reliability is king.

Our response: Innovation that powers performance

At StreamAMG, these insights are more than discussion points, they’re action points. Our roadmap is aligned with the needs of modern sports OTT, and we're working with both new and long-standing partners to build features that turn fans into superfans.

Whether it's launching new personalisation engines, expanding our multi-view technology, or integrating next-generation data layers for predictive content, we're constantly evolving our platform.

Our primary goal is to build engagement, enhance loyalty, and drive commercial growth for our partners. We'll achieve that by globalising their events and appealing to a wide and diverse consumer base with world class streaming experiences.

Looking ahead

IBC 2025 confirmed that the OTT space particularly in sports is at an inflection point. The winners in this space will be those who don’t just deliver streams, but deliver connection. Connection through personalisation, engagement, and flawless performance.

We’re proud to be part of that journey with our clients, and excited about what the next 12 months hold.
