At StreamAMG, our team is at the heart of everything we do. Each team member brings unique expertise and passion, allowing us to stay at the forefront of direct-to-fan solutions for sports rightsholders. Today, we’re excited to introduce Peter Owen our Customer Success Manager. Through this Q&A, get a glimpse into their day-to-day, professional highlights, and what excites them most about the future of streaming.
A Day in the Life of a Customer Success Manager
What is the day-to-day of your role like?
My main focus is helping clients maximise their streaming platforms. Whether it’s identifying new revenue streams, enhancing customer retention, or finding innovative ways to grow their audience base, I’m constantly asking myself, 'How do we help our clients succeed?'
Each day brings a mix of problem-solving, proactive planning, and collaborating with clients to ensure their platforms are optimised to meet both current and future goals. This client-centred approach ensures we deliver value across multiple touchpoints.
Professional Highlights
What has been your favourite project at StreamAMG?
Re-launching Matchroom and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) on our BLAZE platform was a standout! It’s incredibly rewarding to see clients take advantage of cutting-edge technology and achieve their internal goals. Delivering that upgrade within their timeline was a challenge, but seeing the result in action made it so worthwhile.
How did you get started in this industry?
I started in the customer support team at StreamAMG, which allowed me to gain a deep understanding of our platforms from an end-user perspective. After four years in the Live Operations team, where I worked closely with clients during matchdays, moving into the Customer Success team in 2023 felt like a natural progression. This role allows me to combine my technical knowledge with a more strategic, long-term focus on client success.
Working at StreamAMG
Describe StreamAMG in three words.
Innovative, flexible, creative.
What’s your favourite part of working at StreamAMG?
The variety. I work with a wide range of clients, each with unique goals and challenges, and no two days are the same. It pushes me to think creatively and find tailored solutions for each client.
If you could switch jobs with anyone at StreamAMG for a day, who would it be and why?
I’d love to spend a day with the commercial team. Gaining insights into how potential clients view our offerings and understanding their expectations would be fascinating. It would also offer perspective on industry trends and help us adapt our services to meet evolving demands.
Behind-the-Scenes
What’s your favourite sports team, and how did you become a fan?
Rangers! Growing up in a small town a couple of hours away from Glasgow, you had two choices—I went with Rangers. I think it was my way of rebelling since my dad is a Celtic fan!
If you could have dinner with any athlete, past or present, who would it be?
Alex Ferguson. Discussing how he took Aberdeen to a European trophy and went on to sustain such incredible success at Manchester United would be fascinating. His ability to reinvent himself and adapt over decades is inspiring.
If you could stream one sporting event live from anywhere in the world, which would it be and why?
The Monaco Grand Prix. Its prestige and the technical challenge of broadcasting such a large-scale event make it a dream production.
Which sports moment gives you goosebumps every time you see it?
There are two that come to mind. The first is Scotland qualifying for the Euros in 2020. It was the first tournament I remember us qualifying for, so it was a really special moment. The second is Rangers scoring the winner in extra time during the Europa League semi-final. That was magical – very memorable moments
Looking Ahead
What excites you most about the future of streaming?
Streaming is becoming an integral part of how clubs and leagues engage with their fans. From season ticket integration to enhancing matchday experiences, the future is all about building a comprehensive ecosystem around live and on-demand content. The move towards creating more shoulder content beyond live matches is particularly exciting. With increasing integration, there’s enormous potential for personalisation and engagement.
