How StreamAMG’s Stripe integration will drive client revenue growth

Published On: June 27, 2025 - Categories: Announcements

At StreamAMG, we’re focused on helping our clients monetise content without friction - whether that’s growing into new markets, offering more flexibility to fans, or unlocking additional revenue streams.

That’s why we’re excited to announce a major upgrade to our payments platform: Stripe Checkout – which is now live!

Here’s a snapshot of some of the key benefits that Stripe will enable for our clients.

More Revenue, Less Friction

  • Launch pay-per-view access or flexible subscriptions instantly
  • Accept local payment methods like iDeal, Bancontact, digital wallets, and more
  • Fast, secure payouts—no manual admin required

Stronger Churn Protection

  • Smart payment retries save lost subscriptions
  • Built-in fraud and chargeback protection
  • Always-on payment processing = no downtime

Built-In Revenue Growth Tools

  • One-click upsells (e.g. from PPV to monthly, monthly to annual)
  • Cancellation offers & pause options to retain users
  • Suggested products & simple free trials to drive conversions

Key Features

StreamAMG Associate Product Manager Benjamin Pearson takes a deeper dive into what this Stripe integration means for clients, highlighting some of the key features Stripe Checkout will bring.

40+ Payment Methods Globally

By enabling a wide range of options, including credit cards, digital wallets, and localised payment methods. Stripe ensures fans around the world can pay using their preferred method. This flexibility is crucial, as 67% of consumers say they would abandon an online purchase if their preferred payment option isn't available (source: GoCardless).

Simplified Integration

The singular API requires only an API key and customer JWT token to retrieve product and subscription information. Creating a checkout session involves a single API call, which returns a Stripe-hosted URL for payment and redirects customers back to your site on successful payment.

Secure Transactions

Industry-leading encryption, PCI compliance and fraud prevention keeping customer transaction data secure.

Empowering Fan Subscription Control

The Stripe Customer Portal empowers - in the above example - West Ham fans to easily manage their subscriptions. This includes:

  • Upgrading, downgrading, or cancelling packages.
  • Out of the box tools to reduce churn, e.g. retention coupons can be served (pictured, left) if a user has intention to leave, ultimately protecting vital revenue.
  • Technically, this a simple url redirect and greatly reduces integration complexities should this be your route of choice.
  • The customer portal also enables the collection of valuable data on cancellation reasons and user behaviour, providing actionable insights into churn patterns.

This data feeds into our analytics, empowering our dedicated product team to recommend new monetisation strategies and proactively advise you on optimising your subscription offerings.
