Meet the Stream Team: Paul Ojuederie

By Published On: January 24, 2023 - Categories: Blog Industry Insights

In the first of a new series, we're bringing you a little bit closer to the team involved in putting StreamAMG at the forefront of the sports streaming industry.

Today we chat with a newcomer to the company, Paul Ojuederie; our business development manager.
Find out which Manchester club Paul supports, where he lies on the Messi v Ronaldo debate and where he thinks the OTT industry is heading next...

Describe your role at StreamAMG

As the New Business Development Manager, I’m responsible for researching & identifying greenfield all the way to established sports OTT services across Europe, from discussing their service to finding challenges and areas of improvement that StreamAMG can fill.

What's your favourite sport to watch?

Football! I’ve been a huge Manchester United fan since I can remember – I had a great childhood supporting them, but the last 10 years has REALLY tested my support and shown I'm not just here for the good times. United will be back again.

What's your favourite sport to play and why?

Football! (Shock). My claim to fame is having trials for Blackburn Rovers when I was 14 (they were in the Premier League back then too) but I didn't make the grade. I am still enjoying 5-a-side every week.

Who is your favourite sportsperson?

Cristiano Ronaldo - when I was younger, I used to love all the skills and tricks and used to copy them for my own game so I've felt attached to him from a young age. He seems a good role model off the pitch too being a family man, doesn't drink/smoke, charity work etc.

Favourite sporting moment?

2008 Champions League Final. The bullet header from Ronaldo, all the way to the Terry slip in the penalty shoot-out. *chefs kiss*

Favourite thing about your job?

Speaking to sports organisations every day!

What three words would you use to describe StreamAMG?

Powerful, Scalable, Friendly

Favourite StreamAMG feature?

StreamProtect - stop Pirated streams at manifest level, keeping your premium content safe and more revenue in your pocket!

What does the future of OTT look like?

Aggregation services will be the real winners, people don't want to have 20 different OTT services on the phone/TV/Laptop - they want to go to one place that has them all for efficiency.

Cutting the cord will continue, that's why you see the likes of Sky bringing out SkyGlass.

Live Sports Rights will eventually be kept and utilised by the Federations/Leagues and even clubs and shared with the consumer via OTT. We're already seeing this with FIFA+, UEFA TV and PAOK TV. Will there be a world in the (very far) future where my subscription to MUTV will include all their Premier League games including 3pm kick offs? Only time will tell...

Well, that's Paul folks! We’ll see you soon for the next edition of Meet the Stream Team.
